As an agency, this was our first time at Design Shanghai this weekend. The 4 day event takes place in the Shanghai Exhibition Centre, a grand palatial building from 1955 that was a gift from Russia to China.

Design Shanghai is now in its 3rd year and so many of our clients participated including Kvadrat, Perrier Jouet, Swarovski and Lee Broom, who was invited as a key note speaker.

But our hero project in Shanghai was the launch of Clarks: Rebooted, a global artist initiative celebrating 65 years of the Desert Boot and in support of The HALO Trust, the leading landmine removal charity. Clarks has 400 stores across China so brand awareness is strong. This project aimed to elevate the reputation of Clarks in the Design? community and attract a new audience of saavy customers. Limited edition Desert Boots created by designers Lee Broom, TOOGOOD, Kacper Hamilton and Alexandra Llewellyn were presented along side their unique works.

Double in size from last year, Design Shanghai attracts over 50,000 visitors including press, interior designers, architects, students and those generally interested in Design. ?In terms of brand exposure in one of the most important and biggest consumer markets in the world, it doesn’t get better than this.
