More so than ever, brands and designers need to be offering a value exchange.
On October 5th, Design Miami/ hosted its annual Design Visionary cocktail and dinner reception, which included a preview of this year’s fair and an announcement of the 2016 Panerai Design Miami/ Visionary recipient. This year’s honoree is New York City-based SHoP Architects, who have also been commissioned to design a public plaza at the entrance of the fair. The award was presented by esteemed Italian watchmakers Officine Panerai. The dinner was hosted at 9 Dekalb, a former bank, which will be transformed by SHoP into a 73-story mixed-use building. Guests mingled in the vault of the old bank where they enjoyed Perrier-Jouët champagne before heading upstairs to the bank’s expansive foyer for a multi-course dinner provided courtesy of Design Miami/ sponsor Dean & DeLuca.
