Design Core Detroit champions the city’s creative community, connecting designers, makers, thought leaders, businesses and brands, and communities from across the region through design-led programs, cultural events, and partnerships with local and global brands. As the steward of the city’s UNESCO City of Design designation, and host of Detroit Month of Design, they daylight the city’s rich history of design, and the evolving face of its creative sector on both the local and international stage.

In 2025, Design Core Detroit presented the 15th annual Detroit Month of Design, taking place throughout September, while simultaneously celebrating its 10th year as a UNESCO City of Design. As the only UNESCO City of Design in the United States, Detroit has transformed into a citywide design destination, activating neighborhoods with a dynamic lineup of exhibitions, installations, studio tours, product launches, artist talks, hands-on workshops, and design-forward gatherings.

Camron secured national and international print, digital, broadcast, and social coverage in PIN-UP, Dwell, The Architect’s Newspaper, Forbes, Surface, Monocle and Wallpaper*, culminating in Wallpaper* naming Detroit its ‘City of the Year’ in 2026. Press coverage reached a combined 71M+ readers globally, brought to life through a press trip to Detroit, to experience the best that the Month of Design has to offer.

Beyond its role leading media engagement, Camron led the development of a multi-pronged communications strategy, which included refreshing the event’s brand positioning and messaging, and alongside, initiating the organization’s first brand ambassador program. Ambassadors included the Detroit-educated, New York-based architect Suchi Reddy, and Michigan-based brand MillerKnoll’s Director of Archives and Brand Heritage, Amy Auscherman — a program initiated to amplify the event’s impact nationally, in celebration of its milestone year.

Camron engaged local institutions including the Cranbrook Museum of Art, and international hotel brand NoMad, offering a first, and rare look inside the future Detroit outpost at the newly rehabilitated Michigan Central. Additionally, Camron brokered Detroit Month of Design’s first media partnership with Dezeen, who joined the event on the ground, hosting a day of talks with key voices in design, discussing how the city developed its position as a design powerhouse, and the ongoing evolution of Detroit as a global hub for creativity.

Camron and Detroit Design Core continue their partnership for the 2026 Detroit Month of Design, taking place throughout September.
