Design Workshop had a reputation built over decades, but its brand had fallen behind. Our mission: to help this reputation shine through, and showcase the real, human value in an oft misunderstood discipline.

We began the project with extensive category and market research, situating the project in a complex contextual landscape. Three crucial findings shaped the direction: proving impact is vital to Design Workshop’s partners; uncovering the firm’s collaborative, adaptable nature is essential; and there is space to own both beautiful and functional design - a combination that rarely seems to go hand in hand, especially in a category as misunderstood as landscape architecture.

We took these findings and built a proposition around a single idea: space. Space to breathe, live, work, connect and feel. The brand values were rewritten, creating goals that were clear and decisive, captured in a strategy and manifesto that puts lasting impact at the centre. Messaging, copy, a refreshed visual identity and website carry the same confident restraint. We reprioritised and simplified the Legacy Design process, which ultimately inspired a defining part of the visual IP in an original Design Workshop motif.

The result is a brand built to last: more distinct, more current, and unmistakably human. One that puts people over ego, integrity over shortcuts, and legacy over trend, committed to shaping places for future generations to thrive. The impact of Design Workshop’s endeavours will be measured in generations, not square feet - and they now have a brand to back it up.
