March 6th sees the opening of “Baccarat 250 years of French Art de Vivre” exhibition at Harrods (March 6th-29th) For its 250th anniversary celebrations, Baccarat shows the best of its excellence and craftsmanship in an exhibition at Harrods of the world’s most illustrious Crystalworks, which over the ages has become a symbol of perfection, elegance and art de vivre. Baccarat’s extraordinary history dates back to 1764 when it was created by decree of King Louis XV. From the very first set of glasses commissioned by Louis XVIII, to the majestic candelabras made for Tsar Nicholas II and the special orders for Maharajahs, Presidents, Emperors and Kings, Baccarat has created truly unforgettable pieces to celebrate unforgettable moments, seducing the world’s iconic personalities such as Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Prince Rainier, Princess Grace of Monaco, Josephine Baker and Aristotle Onassis. Now, that glory of the unique art de vivre à la Française is showcased at Harrods: three spectacular room sets fill the famous Harrods Brompton Road windows, conjuring a luxurious Dining Room, a Library and a Winter Garden. Each room a breathtaking display of Baccarat heritage items, contemporary pieces and special “anniversary” collections. A pop up store on the ground floor of Harrods accompanies the exhibition.
