One of this year’s hotly anticipated Salone installations was Housewarming, a collaboration between Airbnb and Fabrica. Set within the stunning Palazzo Crespi in central Milan, Housewarming provided an appealing oasis for the Salone-crowd across four sun-filled days.

Showcasing the works of nineteen international Fabrica designers, Housewarming presented a series of bespoke installations tied to each designer’s own culture and hometown. Capturing the spirit of Airbnb and the process of meeting people across the globe, guests were invited to light Indian lamps with Nikita Bhate, learn Japanese with Tomomi Maezawa, play Stickball with American designer Alex Rothera and have tea with British designer Daniel Rous.

This interactive installation led guests around the breath-taking rooms of Palazzo Crespi where designers and their works sat alongside historic artworks, antique furniture and Crespi family photos. Visitors were greeted with home-made canapés from the Palazzo chefs and were able to sip Bellinis within the sophisticated glamour of the Palazzo’s remarkable Ballroom which was transformed into a comfortable space with contemporary furniture designed by Fabrica.
