Northworks is an architecture and interior design firm based in Chicago, specialising in private residential collaborations and projects across the US.

The team is as comfortable creating homes in the city as they are on mountain tops. Their expertise spans the gamut of design and built, from future-focused new designs to tasteful and respectful historic preservation.

After a period of rapid growth, Northworks is looking to take stock; reflecting on their journey and the exciting future ahead.

This was the brand narrative we needed to tell.

Depicting The Art of Living

‘The Art of Living’ was set as Northworks’ brand platform, with the notion that collaboration and client participation, can help people to realise and enjoy these new lifestyles.

And specifically, this openness in approach was key to unlocking the new look and feel of the Northworks brand. It became the basis of the visual identity…

The concept of the ‘open door’ was developed as a visual encapsulation of this belief. A through-line that connects Northworks’ projects, team, client partners and ethos. An open invitation to collaborate. This visual metaphor was carried through into the new logo & lock-up designed for the Northworks brand, as well as content, the website and all marketing materials.

The colour, typography, photographic treatment and other brand elements were designed to reflect the refined, elegant heritage and sensibility of the Northworks brand,complementing the modern, luxurious approach to residential architecture that has become the heartland project type that has driven Northworks to new heights.
